Bookend Farm was established in 2005. The goal was to breed quality Sporthorses for the English disciplines. Although Bookend Farm is no longer an operating breeding facility, I have kept one foal. This website will now be used to document the life of that foal, Fahrenheit.
I have been riding horses for 29 years. I have competed in Three Day Eventing, Hunters, Jumpers, Dressage and even some Reining (which is more like Dressage than you think!). I started riding at the age of 6 in the Netherlands and got a good Dressage foundation there. I continued with the Hunter/Jumpers until college, where I rode for the Equestrian Team at Texas A&M. I was lucky to be one of the point riders to represent my team Nationally at Invitational Competitions and Area Finals. While at A&M, I also took classes on training young horses and Reining classes.
After college, I started competing in Three Day Eventing. I also started teaching riding lessons at various stables in the Austin area.
It is my goal to put all of the knowledge I have aquired to use in the training of Jude. I am not yet sure of what discipline we will be competing in...I am happy to go in whichever way he tells me he would like to go. So, sit back, grab the pommel, and come along for the ride! :-)
Hope to see you at the shows!
